Sacrifice - Salvation - Healing
"Draw near to God and He will draw near to you" (James 4:8)
But who really wxants to draw near to the cross where the Son of God gave His life? Who wants to stand before His tortured body?
This is the call we are asked to respond to, a call we know to dodge only too well. It is indeed easier to distance yourself from the cross rather than approach it.We often prefer to hide behind our masks and our safety than to stand face to face with Jesus.
As these pages unfold, we will look at the historical reality of the cross followed by a look at each of the seven words Christ gave from the cross. We will, in this way, enter into the mystery of God's love for each of us by contemplating and worshiping His wounded and open heart from which springs a fountain of living water for the healing and purification of our whole being. Let's be certain that we will not come out unscathed.
This book has been a birthing experience for its author, as it will be for many readers, for we must go through the cross, we know it only too well. To sum up, through these pages we want to draw near to the cross, to understand its barbaric environment, but not only. We will draw near to listen and hear the words of Christ. Lastly, we will draw near to the cross to be healed - but not without first being shaken by the encounter. WIthout forgetting that Jesus has overcome death, and that His sacrifice opened to doors of resurrection for us.
